So Jessica I have determined that if there is a will there is a way, and have begun a great search for the perfect way to contain our dogs with the minimum amount of effort. Examining electrical fences most cost around $200, and that is without digging up the yard as well. I am determined that these dogs will be with us forever. I think I would be happier with a real fence so I am off to compare prices and do investigation. I think we could make a space in the barn for the dogs during the day and use our doggie door as you offered b/c the electrical fence has a setting for in doors as well so we could contain the dogs to a specific area in the barn without them ruining dad's studio etc. I think this is a viable option and I could prolly spend at least $200 on the dogs. Anyway I am off to finish research. Love you. Talk to you on msn messenger or email me if you would like.

It may be easier to get an electrical fence but I am worried about the fact that any dog or human could walk in and hurt them. Also, if a a dog gets really excited then it may ignore the pain and run through the fence anyway. Sites say that after the dog runs through the fence it may not come back because it will be afraid of electrical shock. So I'm not sure what to do. But wooden fence seems a lot more expensive.

This looks interesting. But we need to figure out how exactly this is going to work...b/c if we had a fence they could go in the barn, but they couldn't be out in the yard all the time. We also need to see if dad is willing to help in any way.
