May. 1st, 2008 08:47 pmHave you ever heard of a band, and you want to know what their music sounds like, but you don't want to blindly buy their cd? You've come to the right place!
Allow me to introduce Songbird, the Firefox-like music player. I really like Songbird, but a lot of people haven't heard about it which is a shame because it has many unique features unavailable in other music players, and it just keeps getting better!
Songbird is cool because it is extremely well integrated into the web, including a feature which allows you to search for a particular song within the music player, download it, and save it in your library, legally. You cannot copy the music anywhere else, and it does not leave your library, making it legal, but you *can* listen to new artists, and you can find, and add that one song from that artist you like. For example, if you have heard of the Hush Sound, and you think you'd like to hear what they sound like, you can search for their name, and download what pops up. Easy peasy! The motto goes something like; download responsibly; and listen. You can keep the song in your library for as long as you want, but if you really like it and you want to be able to listen to it in your car or elsewhere, you can now confidently shell out the big bucks for the cd.

(The other cool thing about Songbird, is that, if perchance there is a feature you would like in a music player that Songbird doesn't have, you can go and download add-ons, just like for Firefox.)
One point to clarify: You might want to add search engines to Songbird, in order to do this you add them as add-ons. It's pretty simple but if you have any questions, comment here or check the faq songbird site and you'll get your answers! Edited: Another point to clarify, if you see pop up ads in songbird, go to the songbird add on site and install ad block plus for songbird, and there *will be* no more ads. Blast those ads!
- I'm all done with classes, and work. All I have left are finals. I received my medieval art paper and journals back today and I am so happy! I'm in a much better mind set, today. ^_^
Trivia fact of the day: Do you run disk clean up and defrag your computer regularly? If not, you might want to think about doing so...the surgeon general says it can make a slow computer faster, and a fast computer even faster!
