So I started playing Rune Scape today, a free online adventure game. I'm playing and I discover that I need a newcomer's map. So I go kill someone who was around the same level as me. Right fine. I had no pretensions I was helping the fellow or anything. I just needed his money. I kill him I have money for the map. So I ask, does anyone know the way to the general store, some guy comes up and says I'll show you. I follow him, he walks and walks and walks and walks. So I'm thinking the general store is not that far away. So I ask him, where are we going? He says I'll take you to my bank, give you a map, and some money. I say, that's nice but I don't understand I just wanted to go to the store. I can buy my own map. He says he likes to help newcomers. I'd encountered other people who also just helped new people out. I think nothing of it.

The bloody bastard keeps walking. and walking. and walking. Finally a little notice pops up...You are going too far north, if you continue to walk you will be subject to the attentions of wild animals, and your own friends can kill you...Hmph. I stop walking, I'm like where are we going...He says to my bank. Excuse me there is no fucking bank out in the middle of the wilderness!!!!! I flee back the way I came, the bastard lead me so far into the woods I don't know where I am, and I still don't have a bloody map!!!!!!!! Arrrgh. I will become much stronger and than I'm going to kill the bastard.

Why would anyone want to kill me, I have a bow with no arrows, some wood, some bones, and 10 dollars!!!!!

miah said if you follow him into the woods he has a newcomer's map you can have for runescape ;p ....ok, so maybe he didn't actually say the whole you had to follow him into the woods part, but he did say you can have his map :D ...and getting stronger to beat up dirty bastards seems like an excellent plan to me. and jarrod apparently has a strong character so if you got the jerk's name he can go kill him for you as well for immediate gratification.

I actually went up a few levels, got a newcomers map, and a lot more money. :)
